Glenmorangie Lasanta is a Highland single malt first matured in ex-bourbon casks, then extra-matured in sherry casks, a two-stage process the distillery calls “Lasanta,” Gaelic for warmth and passion. That second maturation is what pushes it away from Glenmorangie’s lighter, more floral core style toward something richer and spicier, closer to a dessert whisky than a delicate one. It suits someone who already enjoys sherried Highland malts and wants a step up in weight without moving to a heavily peated style.
CHARACTER
