Dewar’s 18 YO is a blended Scotch finished using the brand’s Double Aged process, where the fully aged blend is married together in oak a second time before bottling. That extra marrying period softens the whisky and rounds out its grain base, bringing honey, cut grass and orchard fruit forward alongside toasted oak. It suits someone who wants the depth of a long-aged blend without the heavier sherry or peat character of a single malt.
CHARACTER
Honey: sweetness on the nose
Cut Grass: fresh, hay-like lift
Malt: toasted grain underneath
Pear: orchard fruit on the palate
Oak: full-bodied through the finish
Chocolate: dark chocolate on the nose
Smoke: a gentle wisp on the palate
TASTING NOTES
NOSE- Honey and cut grass sit over toasted grain with a note of dark chocolate.
PALATE- Orchard pear and malt come through with a gentle wisp of smoke.
FINISH- Grassy notes fade into full-bodied oak.
