Cazulo Dukshiri
Cazulo is South Goa’s premium feni house, run by the Vaz family at Fazenda Cazulo, crafting feni since 1982. Dukshiri is their rare, exotic expression: coconut feni vapor-infused with the roots of Indian Sarsaparilla, a traditional Goan botanical, giving it a character unlike either a plain cashew or coconut feni. Feni itself is Goa’s oldest distilled spirit, with coconut feni predating the cashew version by centuries, long before the Portuguese introduced cashew trees to Goa in the 1500s; both styles now carry a Geographical Indication tag recognising them as a speciality of the state. Purists drink Dukshiri neat, the way any premium feni is best appreciated, though it also works well over ice or mixed the way Cazulo’s own team suggests: with coconut feni, coffee and ice, shaken and served in a whisky glass.
