Cazulo Coconut
Cazulo is South Goa’s premium feni house, run by the Vaz family at Fazenda Cazulo, crafting feni since 1982. Their Coconut Feni honours the older of Goa’s two feni traditions: coconut feni predates the cashew version by centuries, distilled from fermented coconut toddy long before the Portuguese brought cashew trees to Goa in the 1500s. It carries a slightly sweeter, more delicate finish than cashew feni, in keeping with the general character of coconut feni against its cashew counterpart. Both styles now carry a Geographical Indication tag as a speciality of the state. Traditionalists drink Cazulo Coconut neat; it also works well over ice or in a simple feni cocktail with soda and lime.
