Sazerac Rye is produced by Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, and carries the name of the Sazerac cocktail that helped define New Orleans drinking culture. It is a straight rye whiskey, built on the spice and dryness rye grain brings rather than the sweeter, corn-forward profile of bourbon. The whiskey has picked up strong recognition among reviewers, including a 95-point score from Whisky Advocate. It works equally well as a sipping whiskey or as the backbone of a proper Sazerac cocktail.
