Komos Añejo Cristalino is the cristalino expression from Komos, the ultra-luxury tequila brand founded by former Master Sommelier Richard Betts (who also founded Sombra Mezcal and Astral Tequila) and Joe Marchese, under parent company Casa Komos Brands Group (CKBG). It starts as a standard Añejo, aged a minimum of one year in French oak barrels previously used for white wine, then is dripped through activated charcoal after aging to strip its color while retaining the tequila’s aged character, producing the brand’s signature crystal-clear cristalino style. It’s packaged in a handmade, opaque ceramic bottle, and Tasting Panel Magazine rated the expression 98 points.
