Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition began with a conversation between Jameson’s Head of Whiskey Science and the head brewer at Cork’s Franciscan Well Brewery, and grew into a barrel swap: whiskey casks sent to age craft stout, then returned for the triple-distilled Jameson blend to finish in. Since 2019 the stout finishing has come from Eight Degrees Brewing, and the result stays true to Jameson’s smooth, triple-distilled character while picking up cocoa, coffee and butterscotch from the beer-seasoned wood.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE- Freshly cut hay and crisp orchard fruit, green apples and pears with a twist of lime zest, toffee and coffee.
PALATE- A sweet mouth coating touch of hops and cocoa beans from the beer cask finish, cocoa, coffee and butterscotch.
FINISH- Long and sweet with milk chocolate and butterscotch, a gentle roasted cocoa warmth.
