Delas Chateauneuf du Pape “Haute Pierre” comes from Delas Frères, a négociant house based in Tain-l’Hermitage in the northern Rhône that also sources fruit from the southern appellations, Châteauneuf-du-Pape among them. The blend is roughly 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah, grown on the appellation’s famous galets roulés, the large rounded stones that store daytime heat and release it back to the vines overnight. It’s built with real ageing potential, commonly cellared 10 years or more, and pairs with the traditional Provençal stews and braised meats the region is known for.
