Black Dog Gold Reserve Aged 12 Years was originally launched as Black Dog Deluxe, the very first expression in the range before Black Reserve and Triple Gold Reserve were added; it was later renamed to foreground its genuine 12-year age statement, putting it in direct competition with other 12-year blended Scotches like Chivas Regal 12 and Johnnie Walker Black Label. The brand itself dates to 1883, first blended in Scotland by James MacKinlay to meet an order from Bombay wine merchant Herbert Musgrave Phipson, and Black Dog has been bottled and marketed in India since 1992 under United Spirits, part of Diageo. This listing is the 750 ml format of the same 12-year blend.
