Ardbeg Wee Beastie is an Islay single malt Scotch from Ardbeg, matured for five years in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry butts. It is the youngest permanent expression in Ardbeg’s range, bottled at 47.4% ABV and non-chill filtered, built to deliver the distillery’s trademark heavy peat at full, unrestrained strength. Where older Ardbegs mellow with time, Wee Beastie stays raw and intense, aimed at drinkers who want Islay peat in its most direct form.

Peat: Raw and central through nose, palate and finish
Black Pepper: Sharp spice up front on nose and palate
Smoke: Biting smoke tearing from the glass
Chocolate: A sudden punch on the palate
Pear: Fruit note tucked under the smoke on the nose
Green Apple: Tart fruit brightness on the palate
Iodine: A medicinal edge underneath the palate
TASTING NOTES
NOSE- Black pepper and melting tar tear from the glass with raw peat, biting smoke, pear and a savoury hint of honey glazed ham.
PALATE- A sucker punch of chocolate meets tar and peat, with black pepper and savoury meatiness, green apple, ash and a medicinal edge underneath.
FINISH- Savoury and meaty, with a visceral tang of smoke, peat and cold ash.
