Godawan Series 01, styled “Rich & Rounded,” is aged in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks for primary maturation before finishing in second-fill ex-bourbon barrels seasoned with the same Rasna and Jatamansi botanicals used across the range. Distilled by Diageo in the Thar desert of Rajasthan from locally sourced six-row barley, the extreme heat accelerates maturation dramatically compared to Scotland, part of what the brand calls its “exceptional cask architecture.” It’s the sherry-forward, richer sibling to Series 02’s cherry-wood “Fruit & Spice” expression.
