Don Julio 1942 was created in 2002 to celebrate 60 years since Don Julio González began making tequila in 1942 at his La Primavera distillery in the Jalisco highlands. It’s an Añejo, aged a minimum of 24 months in ex-bourbon American white oak casks, well past the industry’s 12-month standard, made from 100% Blue Weber agave slow-cooked and fermented with a yeast strain developed by González himself. Produced in small batches, it’s positioned as the choice of connoisseurs in exclusive cocktail bars worldwide, best enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
