Patrón El Alto is a prestige blend crafted by Master Distiller David Rodriguez from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the highest parts of the Atotonilco El Alto region of Jalisco, the terrain the expression is named for and reputed to yield the sweetest agave. Its core is Patrón Extra Añejo, aged a minimum of four years, blended with Patrón Añejo and Reposado tequilas matured across eleven different barrel types, predominantly a hybrid American-oak-body, French-oak-head cask, following four years of development and over 300 tastings to settle the final blend. Most of the agave is crushed with a two-tonne volcanic tahona stone, Patrón’s traditional method, before fermentation with the brand’s proprietary yeast and distillation in copper pot stills.
