William Lawson’s
William Lawson’s is a blended Scotch whisky created in 1849, now part of Bacardi through parent company John Dewar & Sons, built around a high malt content centred on the Macduff distillery’s single malt. The nose opens with a light, perfumed hint of peat before settling into caramel, honey, vanilla and lemon with a touch of tobacco, and the palate is sweetly grainy with vanilla and a hint of dried fruit, running into a long finish. It’s a sweet, medium-bodied blend, built as an easy, everyday Scotch rather than one designed for slow sipping and analysis.
