The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured first in traditional oak casks, then finished for a period in sherry casks, the technique that gives the range its name. That secondary maturation builds a fuller, sherried style of honey and dried fruit without losing the malt driven backbone of the base spirit. It remains one of the more approachable entry points into Balvenie’s wider range.
