Teacher’s 50 was released to mark 50 years of Indian independence, a special blend made specifically for the Indian market and part of the wider Teacher’s range that’s been produced since 1830. The nose leans rich and malty with oak, caramel and dried fruits, burnt vanilla, sugar and sherry, opening into a full-bodied palate of honey, vanilla and spice with a long finish. It carries more smoke and heft than the standard Highland Cream, closer in spirit to the Golden Thistle 12 Year Old, and rewards a slower glass rather than a quick mix.
