Martell VS is a Cognac from Martell, the oldest of the great Cognac houses, founded in 1715 by Jean Martell on the Charente river. It is a single-distillery expression drawn mainly from Fin Bois and Fine Champagne eaux-de-vie, distilled using Martell’s own method of removing the wine from its lees before distillation for a leaner, fruitier spirit, then aged in fine-grain French oak. It suits someone who wants an approachable, fruit-forward young Cognac rather than the heavier, more classically oaky style.
