Hoegaarden is a Belgian witbier from the village of Hoegaarden, brewed to a recipe of malted barley, unmalted wheat, coriander seed and dried Curaçao orange peel that dates back centuries to local monks and farmers. The brewery is widely credited with reviving the witbier style after it had nearly disappeared, and it remains the benchmark Belgian wheat beer today. It suits anyone who wants the real Belgian original rather than a wheat beer that only borrows the style.
