Hennessy X.O was created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy and was the first Cognac ever classified as X.O, Extra Old, a category the whole industry now uses. The blend draws on close to 100 different eaux-de-vie sourced across Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fin Bois, some aged as long as thirty years in French Limousin oak before blending. It suits someone who wants a genuinely historic Cognac built for slow sipping rather than mixing.
CHARACTER
Black Pepper: A peppery spice tingles the lips and palate
Chocolate: Rich dark chocolate rounds out the mid-palate
