Grey Goose is made from soft winter wheat grown in Picardie, France, sourced through three farming cooperatives and graded to the country’s highest wheat classification, ble panifiable superieur. It is cut with pure limestone filtered spring water drawn from the brand’s own well in Gensac la Pallue, in the Cognac region, from a natural aquifer roughly 500 feet beneath the blending facility. Unlike vodkas that distil several times to strip flavour out, Grey Goose is distilled only once, in steel and copper column stills, specifically to let the quality of the wheat and water come through rather than mask it. This is the standard, flagship expression; Grey Goose Altius is a separate, higher tier that swaps the Cognac spring water for Alpine water and adds a sub zero glacial filtration step, neither of which apply here.
