Greater Than Broken Bat
Greater Than Broken Bat is a limited-edition aged expression from Nao Spirits and Beverages, built on the brand’s classic Greater Than London Dry gin base of Himalayan juniper, coriander seeds, ginger, cardamom, fennel and chamomile flowers. What sets it apart is the aging: the gin rests on toasted Kashmir willow, the same wood cricket bats are carved from, sourced from crowd-sourced broken bats and off-cuts from a bat-maker in Kashmir, a nod to India’s cricket obsession. The result is a whisky-like, wood-forward gin, with perfumed wood, vanilla and sweet spice layered over the juniper core. Bottled at 40% ABV, it won Best Gin in Asia at The Gin Guide Awards 2023. Best sipped neat or on the rocks to let the wood and spice show, though it holds its own in a simple G&T too.
