Grand Yozakura is a limited edition from Glenfiddich’s Speyside distillery, matured for 29 years before becoming the first single malt Scotch finished in Japanese ex-Awamori casks. Awamori is a spirit distilled from long-grain indica rice in Okinawa, and the finishing casks bring their own sweetness and spice to a whisky already built on nearly three decades of oak maturation. It suits a collector or an experienced whisky drinker looking for something genuinely uncommon, not a variation on Glenfiddich’s usual profile.
CHARACTER
Green Apple: crisp burst on the palate
Cinnamon: warm spice on the nose
Almond: caramelised sweetness up front
Oak: long, toasted finish
Vanilla: creamy toffee through the middle
TASTING NOTES
NOSE- Zesty ripe fruit meets caramelised almond and warm cinnamon, with rich oak and a faint herbal edge.
PALATE- Toasted oak and creamy vanilla toffee lead, cut through with bursts of spice, sherbet lemon and crunchy green apple.
FINISH- Long and dominated by oak, tailing into a lingering earthiness.
