Diplomático Planas is an aged white rum from the same Venezuelan distillery as Diplomático’s darker expressions, named for the valley where the distillery sits. It’s a blend of pot, column and batch kettle distillates aged up to six years in ex-bourbon casks, then charcoal filtered up to six times to strip out the colour while keeping the barrel-aged character underneath. It suits someone who wants an aged rum with a clear, white-rum look, built for a Daiquiri or Mojito rather than sipping neat.
