Creyente Mezcal Joven is made from 100% Espadin agave sourced from two distinct Oaxacan regions, the fertile lower altitude soils of Tlacolula and the rugged mountainous terrain of Yautepec (Sierra Sur), with each lot processed and distilled separately before being blended. Production follows traditional mezcal method: the agave hearts are pit roasted in underground ovens, crushed with a stone tahona wheel, fermented, then double distilled in copper pot stills. It is bottled unaged at 40% ABV. The brand was launched in 2016 and is owned by Ex Hacienda Los Camichines, S.A. de C.V., distributed by Proximo Spirits, the group with close ties to the Jose Cuervo family of brands.
