Chablis from Domaine Hamelin (Domaine Thierry Hamelin) comes from Lignorelles in the Chablis appellation of northern Burgundy, made entirely from Chardonnay grown on the region’s distinctive Kimmeridgian limestone, the soil widely credited with Chablis’s signature minerality. The estate is a family domaine now run by Charles Hamelin, farming vines around Lignorelles and Beines, some planted as far back as the 1970s. This base Chablis is built for early drinkability, dry, light and mineral-driven rather than oak-influenced.
