Camikara 12 Year Old comes from Piccadily Distilleries, made from pure cane juice rather than the molasses most Indian rums use, and aged a genuine twelve years, unusually long for an Indian rum. The nose carries honey, toffee, ginger and raisin alongside leather and citrus peel, developing into a palate of banana, fig and orange zest layered with caramel, vanilla and toasted oak. It’s built for slow, neat sipping rather than mixing, the kind of rum meant to be tasted the way a sipping whisky would be, with enough real cask character from its long ageing to reward taking the time.
