Andong Soju Original
Andong Soju takes its name from Andong, the city in South Korea’s Gyeongsangbuk-do province long considered the ancestral home of soju, where a traditional 45%-ABV distilled version of the spirit has been made for centuries and is recognised as an intangible cultural property. This original export bottling is a lighter, more approachable style built for easy drinking rather than the traditional heritage recipe, with the clean, neutral rice-spirit character of soju without fruit flavouring. Soju of this style is typically low in alcohol, clean and smooth, meant to be served well chilled, either neat in a small shot glass in the Korean tradition or over ice. It pairs naturally with Korean food, from fried chicken and barbecue to spicy stews, and works equally well as a casual sipper on its own.
