Mithuna by Paul John is the second release in Paul John’s Zodiac series, distilled and matured at the distillery in Goa. It’s unpeated, non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength, 58% ABV, after maturing in virgin American oak and finishing in ex-bourbon casks. The dual-cask approach nods to the Gemini theme the Zodiac series is built around, pairing the spice and structure of new oak with the softer sweetness of a bourbon-cask finish.
CHARACTER
Honey: ulmo honey on the nose, returning in the finish
Vanilla: tender and soft underneath
Coffee: mocha notes through the palate
Orange Peel: zesty citrus through the middle
Chocolate: dark cocoa deep in the palate
TASTING NOTES
NOSE- Liquorice and gentle beeswax sit with ulmo honey over crisp toast and soft vanilla.
PALATE- Coffee mocha and orange peel lead, with delicate spice, gentle oils and dark cocoa notes.
FINISH- Long and complex, with multi-toned sugars and a return of delicate honey.
