Two Indies is Amrut’s rum, the Bengaluru whisky distillery’s crossover into rum, built as a blend of Indian and Caribbean rums rather than sourced from a single origin. The nose carries almond and freshly cut sugarcane alongside tropical fruit and ripened banana, with molasses and brown sugar underneath and a light Jamaican fruity funk running through the wood and vanilla notes. The palate turns caramel and vanilla with a spicy finish, golden brown in the glass with citrus and honey rounding it out. It’s a genuinely different profile from the typical Indian dark rum, positioned for sipping neat where its Caribbean-influenced funk and spice have room to show, though it holds up fine over ice too.
