100 Pipers 8 Years Old steps up from the standard blend with eight years’ minimum age behind every whisky in it, still built around Chivas Brothers’ light Speyside malt character. The nose leans on dried mango and light cereal notes, mellowing into a softer, fruitier palate of macadamia nut and cooked apple with a gentle sweetness running through, and a clean, unhurried finish. It keeps the same easy-drinking spirit as the standard 100 Pipers, just with a touch more depth and roundness from the extra ageing, equally suited to a simple highball, a splash of soda, or a glass over ice.
