Johnnie Walker Blonde is one of the newer additions to the range, launched in 2021 and built from wheat and malt whiskies matured largely in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks rather than the sherry and refill casks that shape the darker labels. That choice shows in the glass: a lighter, sweeter whisky with vanilla, honey and soft toffee up front, a gentle citrus brightness, and only the faintest trace of the smoke that defines Johnnie Walker’s classic labels. It’s positioned as an easy, approachable entry point into the range, smooth enough to drink neat or on the rocks, and forgiving enough for anyone newer to Scotch to start with.
