Corona Extra is a Mexican pale lager brewed by Grupo Modelo, created in 1925 by German immigrant brewer Adolf H. Schmedtje blending German and Mexican lager traditions. Corn is used alongside malted barley, which lightens the body and gives the beer its characteristically crisp, dry finish. It’s traditionally served with a wedge of lime pushed into the neck of the bottle, and suits straightforward, easy drinking over complexity.
